Bed Exit and Movement (BEAM™)
The Bed Exit and Movement (BEAM™) system automatically detects and records possible harmful patient movement while the patient is in the hospital bed. The system provides remote patient observation and communications at the Caregivers Monitoring Station. When an event is triggered, BEAM™ simultaneously launches a pre-recorded message, turns on ambient light, and notifies staff and other on site care professionals to take appropriate action.
The BEAM™ system provides three levels of patient monitoring. Monitoring levels are set by hospital staff according to patient need. Monitoring includes video of events that occur within the room. The system also enables varying levels of automatic detection and alarming of particular patient events. In-room audio announces various automatic instructions to patients based on detected events.
